5 Things That Make me ME!

There are certain things about me that I used to hide. For no other reason than the fact that I thought they were weird and unusual, therefore I was slightly embarrassed by them. Now that I'm older, I don't really care all that much about what people think. Also, some of these things are not embarrassing at all, and I've grown to love who I am. It's what makes me me!

Here are the 5 things that make me uniquely me. (*I'd love to hear yours, too!)

1. I only eat ice cream out of a mug, slightly microwaved.

Now I know, I just put two into one, but they go together. I always put my ice cream in a mug. For whatever reason, I can't eat it out of any other container. Also, I like it mildly thawed, so I put it in the microwave for 10 seconds after I scoop it out. I'm sure these defeats all the laws of ice cream, but that's how I roll.

2. I only eat frozen m&m's.

Keeping with the food theme, can I say first that I love m&m's? I mean, I really love them. All the flavors. Even the weird ones. However, my favorite are the peanut butter and peanut m&m's. With that being said, I put them in the freezer before putting them in my mouth. It's kind of opposite of the ice cream habit. I don't what it is about that, but I just love the crunch and flavor the freezing temps bring out.

3. I cry at all sporting events.

I'm not crying because I'm mad at the outcome or even because I'm happy for the winning team. I cry because I am so proud of the people on the court, track, field, ice, or in the pool. Something inside me wells up when I see people living their dreams and working hard to achieve their goals. These athletes spend countless hours training for these moments and I applaud them for that. For most of them, they are living their dream and I can't help but be emotional about that.

4. I love being outside.

When it's too hot, I'll tough it out. When it's too cold, I'll layer up. And when the weather is just right, I'll sit outside past midnight. I love the outdoors. At restaurants, I'll always take the outdoor seating option. At work, when I have the flexibility, I'll choose the chair under the tree. On the weekends, I'll be in my backyard, at the park with friends, or on a rooftop enjoying the evening skyline view. Everyday, I always try to run, cycle, hike, walk, and in the winter I'm on the slopes! You will rarely find me inside when the weather is tolerable, and especially not when the weather is ideal.

5. My clothes are color-coded in my closet.

I mean, how does anyone find anything when all the colors are mixed together?! I learned this secret about 10 years ago and it changed my life. Just put all the colors together and then you can always find what you're looking for. It's brilliant! Now, the downfall is that this method highlights the fact that I own about 15 pairs of black pants and 55 various types of black tops. But whatever. Black is my favorite color, so the haters can hate.

The point is that all of these things are what makes me uniquely me. Some are normal, and some are weird. But they are all ME. And I'm okay with that.

What about you?
